Introduction
Windows patching have become more crucial as when the number of windows server machine growth. However they is always a challenge in managing those area. Let talk a bit more about the history how it was done last time. The first time was using a manual way where by each of the machine have been configured to download a certain patches at a certain time so that the server can be patch in the maintenance windows. But this create a nightmare especially to the windows administrator who manage more than 100 servers.
This is where by WSUS was introduce by Microsoft for the ease of patching and also a better management with a good reporting tools. As I have research some of it, not everyone are aware of the tools and this happen because they didn't see that is part of the windows feature inside the operating system, no one told them and also not sure what to search in the internet.
Microsoft are aware of the situation and they have decided to embedded the feature part of the Windows Server 8 roles. Now the operating system is still in developer preview and hopefully we can get more from it in the beta preview.
